Turkey

Want to spend the winter in a warm Turkey? Join us on board from 20 November to 30 April 2021.

With our home base Setur Marina in Fineke Turkey, we don’t have to get bored. This area in Turkey is actually a large open air museum. Wherever you go, along every coastal edge or on the many beautiful mountains you will find remnants of the Lycian era. The Lycian Way is a famous long-distance hiking trail in Turkey, from Ölüdeniz, near Fethiye, to Geyikbayırı, about 20 kilometers from Antalya. Fineke is just ahead of Antalya, with plenty of routes to beautiful historical sites from here.

About Fineke

This extremely interesting region is therefore highly recommended for a wonderful relaxing vacation! This cozy town is situated on a beautiful bay with long beaches and a never-ending soft sea breeze. The sea slopes slowly making it very attractive for young children. Finike has a small authentic center, has no (mass) tourism, no busy nightlife, tranquility and the real Turkey is waiting for you. In the old days there was one of the oldest cities of Lycia, namely Limyra. Here you can see the Roman theater from the 2nd century AD. Approximately 20 km westward lies ancient Myra (now Demre), accessible via a beautiful coastal road. Here comes St. Nicholas and of course Santaclaus (Santa Claus), where he once was a bishop. In the distant surroundings you will find a sea of citrus plantations, Fineke is really known for its delicious sweet oranges. Especially when the oranges are in bloom, the lovely sentence will make you happy and it is also a lust for the eye.

In the surroundings

Approximately 50km away is the town of Kemer. The place is enclosed by the Mediterranean sea and the Taurus Mountains. This creates a diverse landscape with high mountains and beautiful beaches with the clear blue sea.
Antalya is nearby and is of course known for the shopping area of Turkey!
East of Antalya is Lara, a seaside resort in full expansion. With its beautiful sandy beaches, Lara quickly got the nickname Golden Mile. In Turkey they also call Lara the Las Vegas of Turkey, which makes you curious to visit this place…
To the sunken city of Kekova! Where the eye reaches, you will find the remains of a sunken city, a medieval castle and Lycian sarcophagi. Against the beautiful green rocky mountains, in the middle of the surrounding villages and of course in the azure water which really invites for a refreshing dip and admire this beautiful history up close.

* Recommended airport(s); Antalya (back & forth), or Izmir International Adnan Menderes Airport (150km) or Balikesir Kacaseyit Airport (38km).

* You can book your day trip or stay on board as a bed-and-breakfast from approximately November 20 to April 30, 2021.
Staying on board for several days is of course no problem, we stay here during the winter period. Despite the fact that Turkey does not have a winter like the Netherlands, we can’t guarantee to sail because of the weather conditions. Of course there are plenty of buses, cabs or a car to rent to explore this part of Turkey.

* The skippers-fee for this region are €29 pdpp (babies and toddlers up to 4 years are free, toddlers and young children up to 12 years get 50% discount).
